Workshop Bookbinding French Link Stitch – English

During this workshop, you will be taken into the wonderful world of bookbinding, with the aim of enabling you to do this at home! We start with an introduction in which we discuss which tools you need and what you need to know before you get started. After that, you will learn the French link stitch.
The French link stitch originated in the 16th century. It is a decorative binding method where the spine is visible, so the binding technique remains clearly visible. The book lies open beautifully and consists of various ‘quires’ (stacks of paper) that are bound together.
After the workshop, you will go home with two self-made booklets, a handout with the binding method, and hopefully plenty of inspiration to get started at home!
This workshop is hosted by Jasper Zijlstra
